Our Impacts

Vision Care for Veterans: Eye Camp at Ex-Servicemen Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society, Angul

On 31st March 2025, Kalinga Eye Hospital reaffirmed its commitment to veteran care by conducting an eye campaign in association with the Ex-Servicemen Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Ltd. in Angul. Seventy-six individuals attended the screening, where 27 were diagnosed with cataracts and referred for surgical intervention, while 35 others received refractive-corrected spectacles.

These services ensured that those who once served the nation could continue to lead independent, fulfilling lives. The heartfelt gratitude expressed by the veterans and their families reinforced the profound impact of such initiatives, motivating the hospital to continue prioritizing elderly and veteran eye care.

Children Eye Screening under the National School Eye Health Program

With the belief that no child should suffer from preventable blindness, Kalinga Eye Hospital, in collaboration with Sightsavers India, conducted an extensive child eye screening initiative at Joda, Keonjhar, from 22nd July to 25th July, 2024 under the National School Eye Health Program.

As a continuation of last year's efforts, this program aimed at providing sustained care to schoolchildren in the district. During the four-day drive, 993 children underwent comprehensive eye examinations, out of whom 135 were prescribed and provided with spectacles, and 4 children were provided with specially developed low vision devices.

Addressing visual impairment in children is crucial for their academic and social development, and this initiative reaffirmed the hospital's commitment to nurturing the next generation's eye health.
